EEMA Co-Opts Arthur Leijtens, Herbert Leitold and Hugo Kerschot to its Board of Directors

EEMA,  the leading independent not for profit, European think tank focussing on identification, authentication, privacy, risk management, cyber security, the Internet of Things and mobile applications, today announced that it has co-opted Arthur Leijtens, Herbert Leitold and Hugo Kerschot to its board of directors.

Arthur Leijtens is founder and president of, software for Strategic Portfolio Management. From 2010 until 2016, he was responsible as Operational Director for the start-up and development of the Trust In Digital Life association, with whom EEMA co-hosts the annual Trust in the Digital World conference.

Herbert Leitold is Secretary-General of A-SIT,  Secure Information Technology Center – Austria, and board member of the non-profit foundation Stiftung Secure Information and Communication Technologies (SIC). He has been involved with EEMA for many years through its participation in the STORK, STORK 2.0 and Cloud for Europe projects. He comments on his role at EEMA:

“As a national association, my daily work at A-SIT is focused on our electronic identity and electronic signatures initiatives. I’m proud of now joining the board of EEMA, as it is the leading European think-tank in this field. In this role, I plan to help advance the emerging field of mobile identity.”

Based in Brussels Hugo Kerschot is the Managing Director of IS-practice – a Program Management Office that delivers project management and high-level advice for major projects within the international and national public sector in the broader field of the Information Society.

Mr Kerschot states:

“In areas such as Internet privacy and security breaches, EEMA has an important role in facilitating discussion and progress at the heart of Europe. As an independent think-tank, it has a unique capacity to bring together industry and policy makers. Through this appointment, I look forward to being an EEMA voice in Brussels.”
