Qognify on the Finalist List for Two Security & Fire Excellence Awards 2017

Security and operations project with Gatwick Airport and new Qognify Extend shortlisted for Security Project or Installation of the Year and Communication Product of the Year categories

Qognify, the leader in big data solutions for physical security and operations, today announced, that it is a finalist in two categories, for the prestigious Security& Fire Excellence Awards 2017. The company is shortlisted for the Security Project / Security Installation of the Year, in recognition of its Gatwick Airport Integrated Security Project, whilst Qognify Extend is a finalist for the Communication Product of the year.

The Gatwick Airport integrated security project provides a consolidated view and full management of any situation or emergency. The project utilises all networked IP cameras, access control and alarms along with Qognify’s video management system (VMS), Situator and Suspect Search analytics software, to rapidly pinpoint any specific individuals or issues.

Launched in 2017, Qognify Extend is a suite of integrated mobile solutions that empowers organisations to leverage field resources and responders to increase situational awareness. Powered by CloudScann, Qognify Extend is a cloud-based solution that effectively extends the reach, coverage and effectiveness of an enterprise’s control room and operations, by enabling personnel and their smartphones to become powerful sensors.

Says Robin Lomax, Gatwick Airport’s IT Project Manager – CCTV Refresh Project: “As key national infrastructure and a major transport hub, Gatwick takes seriously the challenge of maintaining the safety and security of our passengers, visitors and employees. We deliver on this challenge through people and process change combined with powerful technology enablement and a standardised set of operational procedures and ways of working. This brings together the airport security teams, the airport operations teams, the Sussex Police, UK Border force and many more interested parties.

The integrated CCTV solution from Qognify is the technology enabler at the heart of our security solution. It is based on the Qognify Situator product, using advanced video analytics, Video Management System, and Suspect Search functionality. The power of the solution is that it gives Gatwick Airport superior situational awareness and allows us to command, adapt and respond to any security event, before, during and after it occurs. It enables a quicker speed of response; a more appropriate size of response and it allows us to play back and learn lessons from the incident after the fact. We are very privileged indeed to be shortlisted for this Security & Fire Excellence Awards 2017”.

This is the second consecutive year that Qognify’s product innovation has been recognised by the judges of Security & Fire Excellence Awards. In 2016,  VisionHub won the CCTV System of the year (excluding camera and lens) award.

Moti Shabtai, Qognify’s CEO and President states: “We are proud to once again be shortlisted for Europe’s most prestigious awards in our industry. These two categories hold particular significance, as they acknowledge not only our ongoing commitment to bring the latest technology innovations to market, but also how our solutions and expertise are delivered to the customer, improving safety and security for all.”

Owned by UBM, organisers of IFSEC International & FIREX International the Security & Fire Excellence Awards highlight the very best people, projects and processes that the security and fire sectors have to offer. The winners will be announced at an award ceremony attended by more than 1,000 security and fire industry professionals, at the London Hilton on Park Lane, on Wednesday 22nd November 2017.
