UK Information Commissioner to Open IRMS Annual Conference 2018
Elizabeth Denham to address delegates days before GDPR Becomes Law

The Information and Records Management Society (IRMS) today announced that days before GDPR becomes enshrined in law the UK Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham will provide the opening keynote at the IRMS Annual Conference. The UK’s leading conference for information and records management professionals takes place from 20th to 22nd May 2018, at the Hilton Brighton Metropole.
Elizabeth Denham was appointed UK Information Commissioner in July 2016, having previously held the position of Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, Canada and Assistant Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Denham has set out a commitment to increase the consumer trust people have in what happens to their personal data.
IRMS Conference Director, Reynold Leming, states: “We are honoured that the UK Information Commissioner has elected to open the IRMS Annual Conference 2018, just five days before GDPR – one of the most significant changes to UK data protection – becomes law throughout all EU member states.”
