PerpetuityARC Training, part of the Linx International Group will host an invitation only seminar on the professionalisation of the security sector and the rewards of training. The presentation will be followed by a questions and answers session, providing security practitioners with an opportunity to gain expert career guidance. The event takes place on 25th March 2019 with doors opening from 17:30, at the Masa Square Hotel in Gaborone, Botswana.
The event is open to all security practitioners who pre-register to attend, with a large delegation of PerpetuityARC Training alumni. Attendees will learn about the range of classroom and online training available, from short bitsize courses that support Continuing Professional Development, through to ASIS International CPP® and PSP® courses and the prestigious MSc in International Security and Risk Management.
Director of the Linx International Group, Angus Darroch-Warren is a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP). He will present the seminar and host the Q&A session. He comments: “A commitment to training and development is vital for security practitioners to be respected and rewarded for their professionalism. PerpetuityARC Training has considerable experience of delivering training and consulting services across the African continent.” Angus adds: “The event is also an excellent opportunity for us to learn what new security programmes we can develop specifically to support security practitioners throughout Africa.”
The global impetus to professionalise the security sector was apparent when the Linx International Group published research in late 2017. The survey of 1000 security practitioners (including many from Africa) revealed Continuing Professional Development, certification and personal development as the main drivers for training, with respondents also stating the importance of training to them as an individual and the organisation, as well as the positive impact that recognised training qualifications have on their respective industries.
